Kvinnestra chalk quarry (Kvinnersta kalkbrott)
Entry point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ghK9Ekcua4RxFcEJ9
Kvinnersta kalkbrott got transformed into a training and recreational spot for freedivers over the years. It currently has a diving platform with a counter weight system at the deepest part as well as buoys which mark the deep area and the way to it where one can attach buoys for shallower depths.
The water temperature at the surface changes with the season but below 25-30m there is always a constant 6 centigrads. The visibility is generally good but it gets dark quite quickly with it being pitch black below 30m. A torch on the mask or arm might be a good idea.
Stairs all the way down to the water. Diving spots well marked with buoys. Diving platform with counter weight system. Parking lot. It is possible to go and train if you have your own gear by taking a walking path hikers use. However, if you want to use the platform or dive with someone who knows the place and has access to the gates (should you wish to park closer) contact Örebro diving club. Find their details in the find your tribe table or if there’s something specific to this location e-mail at kvinnestra@osdk.se.
